\n\nAt least five people have died after an Amazon cargo plane overran the runway while landing at Miami International Airport and struck several vehicles on a road surrounding the airport, officials say. The Boeing 767 caught fire after the crash, with more than 60 fire units sent to the scene, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
\n\n"There is no apparent threat to public safety at this time," the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said during a news conference on Sunday evening. Officials said the scene remained active. "Units arrived to find an airplane that had caught on fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing," Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said in a post on X.
\n\nThe aircraft was an Amazon Air plane operated by 21 Air. Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said the company was still gathering information about the incident.
