Former captain Brendan Taylor made history by becoming the top run scorer for the African squad in One-Day International cricket (ODIs) on Saturday, October 17. Taylor had changed his retirement decision last year to play for Zimbabwe one more. In the inaugural ODI tri-series encounter in the United Arab Emirates, the 40-year-old wicketkeeper-batter batted at No. 4 for Zimbabwe against Bangladesh, scoring 81 runs off 101 balls to assist his team reach 271/8 in 50 overs. With his 81-run knock, Taylor surpassed Andy Flower's record of 6,786 runs to become his nation's all-time top run scorer.
