Sri Lanka great Kumar Sangakkara fumed after he and his family faced discriminatory and threatening behaviour by Ryanair gate personnel in Dublin. Without giving much detail about the discrimination or threat, Sangakkara said that the experience was unacceptable for any passenger, adding that the tone and mishandling of the procedure were shocking.

“Has anyone experienced discriminatory gate personnel @Ryanair in Dublin? I, with my family, just did and it was shocking. The tone of address and the mishandling of procedure and threatening behavior. Unacceptable for any passenger. First bad experience in Dublin,” Sangakkara posted on X.

The post went viral on social media, with fans criticising the airline for the unprofessional behaviour. Veteran journalist Piers Morgan also extended support to Sangakkara and said that he is one of the most decent and dignified man and for it must have been a truly shameful behaviour by the personnel that forced Sangakkara to come out and publicly call out the airline. He asked the airline to take note of the complaint and take appropriate action.
