\n\nSachin Tendulkar questioned the decision to appoint Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as the vice-captain of the East Zone team for the 2026 Duleep Trophy, which took place in August and September this year. The Indian cricket legend claimed it is too early to hand the teen prodigy leadership duties and called for him to play more matches in red-ball cricket first.
\n\nI feel it’s too early for him to become a vice-captain in the Duleep Trophy. We have to let him play more matches with the red ball and take one step at a time!," wrote Sachin in response to a question about Vaibhav during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on social media platform Reddit.
