At least two students were injured in a shooting at Warner Robins High School on South Davis Drive in Warner Robins, Georgia, on Wednesday, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. A spokesperson for the Houston County School System said at least one of the students was shot.

Both students were taken to a hospital and their injuries are not considered life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities responded to the school and established a perimeter around the campus. An initial report said one victim was shot in the leg and had a tourniquet applied before being located in G Hall, Room 34.

A suspect is now in custody, according to the sheriff’s office. An earlier report described a possible suspect as a Black male wearing a red hoodie, black pants and black shoes, with SWAT requested to search the school.

All other students remained in their classrooms as law enforcement responded. Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting or identified those involved.

School officials asked parents and visitors not to come to the campus while law enforcement and school personnel handled the situation. Authorities also urged people to avoid the area to allow first responders to safely perform their duties.

Roads surrounding Warner Robins High School, including Demon Valley Drive and South Davis Drive, are currently closed.
