Delhi Bomb Threat: High Court, IGI Airport, Red Fort Receive Threat Email Ahead Of I-Day

Bomb threats were reportedly received at the Delhi High Court and multiple other locations in the capital ahead of Independence Day, prompting security checks and a police probe.

Bomb threats have reportedly been received at the Delhi High Court and several other locations in Delhi ahead of Independence Day, prompting security agencies to launch checks across the affected premises.

The other locations mentioned include Jamnagar House, a building in Jhandewalan, an office in Saket, Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport and the SDM office in Delhi Cantonment.

The Registrar General of the Delhi High Court is in touch with Delhi Police for necessary assistance following the threat email.

Email Mentions August 15, Red Fort

According to the contents of the email, the sender made threatening references to August 15 and claimed that Delhi would become “Khalistan”. The message also reportedly rejected Independence Day as a day of Sikh independence and contained references to a possible bomb blast on August 15.

The email made threatening references to the Delhi High Court, district courts and the Red Fort. It also referred to cases involving Sikhs and alleged action against Congress leaders over the 1984 anti-Sikh violence.

The message further contained threatening references involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, besides mentioning explosions and people arriving in “khaki uniforms”.

Multiple Locations Mentioned

The email also reportedly contained references to the Delhi-Ambala route and claimed that Khalistan supporters had reached Delhi. It allegedly mentioned a train travelling from Delhi towards Ambala as a potential target.

Names and identifiers linked to Khalistan militancy were also included at the bottom of the message.

Meanwhile, bomb threats have reportedly been received at several other locations in Delhi, including Jamnagar House, a building in Jhandewalan, an office in Saket, Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport and the SDM office in Delhi Cantonment.

Police and security agencies are verifying the threat and carrying out necessary security checks. There is no immediate confirmation that the threat is genuine, and authorities are treating the email as an input requiring investigation.
