Stock Market Live Updates: The Nifty 50 index returns to trade today after the culmination of the June quarter results season, which, contrary to expectations, turned out to be better than expectations. However, the index has been on a slow grind down, having declined in five out of the last six sessions and lost nearly 300 points in the process.

The Nifty has also been making “lower highs” now for all of these last six sessions. 24,250 – 24,300 zone continues to remain a support as has been the case all of last week, while supply has been emerging between the 24,400 – 24,500 zone. The Nifty Bank, barring last Wednesday, has also been in a downtrend, having lost nearly 600 points during this period, but still remains locked in the 57,000 – 58,000 range.

The market will also monitor announcements for further block deals, or any further OFS’ from the government. Keep an eye on names like Reliance Industries, Voltas, Cochin Shipyard, NMDC, among others.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Live Updates: GS on Ashok Leyland

  • Neutral, TP Rs 175
  • An in-line 1Q.
  • Gross margins were flat qoq but declined by -90bps yoy, while EBITDA margins declined by -100bps yoy.
  • ASOK did not see margin impact this quarter partly because of lower cost inventory being sold this quarter, along with 200-225bps price hike in MHCV and 350bps+ price hike in LCV in FY27 till date, out of which 100bps+ in MHCV and 200bps+ in LCV taken in July are yet to be passed on.
  • On gross margins – as higher cost inventory is sold in Q2, and 1Q RM costs higher than 4Q, 2Q GM impact should be higher than 1Q with management expecting some softening and reversal 3QFY27E onwards.
  • Demand heading into August remained strong – with full year domestic truck volume growth outlook of HSD.

  • Reported adjusted Ebitda of Rs 3.27bn (+28% YoY/-9% QoQ), in line with estimates, supported by better-than-expected margins.
