Host nation India will have a busy day of action on Wednesday (August 19) at the ongoing 2026 BWF World Championships, which are taking place at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi. A total of seven Indian matches will take place on the third day of the tournament, with the competition now reaching the second round (Round of 32).

All four Indians in the singles will be in action. All eyes will be on Ayush Shetty after his historic victory over World No.1 Shi Yu Qi in the first round. 2021 bronze medalist Laksha Sen will also be in action in the Men’s Singles category.

Elsewhere, PV Sindhu will resume her bid for an unprecedented sixth medal in the competition. Before the veteran takes the court in the Women’s Singles, 18-year-old Unnati Hooda will be seen in the Women’s Singles too after winning on her debut in the competition on Tuesday (August 18).

Meanwhile, the highlight of the day will be fifth seeds Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty playing their first match in the tournament after receiving a bye in the first round. The duo won a bronze medal in the 2025 edition in Paris and have cemented themselves as among the best in the world.
