Several much-awaited Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films are set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, JioHotstar, Manorama Max and Sun NXT, offering a diverse mix of genres for streaming audiences. Jana Nayagan will premiere on ZEE5 on August 21, 2026. Directed by H Vinoth, the action drama holds special significance as Vijay’s final film before he shifts his focus to his political career. The film follows Vetri Kondan, a former prisoner who raises Vijayalakshmi, aka Viji, while hoping she will join the defence forces. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Viji unknowingly receives documents connected to Meluga, a secret project led by international dealer John Himmler. As Vetri and Kayal investigate, they uncover Himmler’s connection to Vetri’s past and learn about his former identity as officer Amrish Pujari. Saanve Megghana and Elan’s Tamil romantic comedy Pyaar Prema Kalyanam will begin streaming on Netflix on August 21, 2026. Directed by Elan, the film follows Pavi, a popular social media influencer who refuses to leave her family home after marriage. Breaking with tradition, her husband Elan moves into her family’s house as a live-in son-in-law. His arrival leads to a series of amusing situations as he goes through household expectations and clashing traditions.

Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy Thiruvothu headline I, Nobody, which will begin streaming on JioHotstar on August 25, 2026. Directed by Nisam Basheer, the crime thriller was released in theatres on July 9 and received a mixed response. Released in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil, the film also features Hakkim Shajahan, Ashokan, Vijayaraghavan, Madhupal and Shankar Ramakrishnan in key roles. I, Nobody follows Rajeevan (Prithviraj Sukumaran), a low-profile government clerk whose quiet life takes a dramatic turn when he is taken hostage during a Rs 17-crore bank robbery.

Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya’s romantic drama Chennai Love Story will arrive on SonyLIV on August 21, 2026. The film follows Nivedita, aka Nivi, who moves to Chennai after her boyfriend Ajay ends their three-year relationship. There, she meets Steven Shankar, an aspiring filmmaker whose cheerful personality helps her overcome her emotional problems. The two eventually fall in love and decide to marry, but tragedy strikes when Steven dies in an accident on their wedding day. Unable to cope with his loss, Nivi finds comfort when Steven returns as a spirit visible only to her. As Ajay later re-enters her life, Steven encourages Nivi to move forward and find happiness.

Sumanth’s crime thriller Newton’s 3rd Law is set to premiere on ETV Win on August 27, 2026. Directed by Rajesh Karna and produced by Harish Kohirkar, the film moves to streaming following its theatrical release. The cast includes Jagapathi Babu, Srinivas Avasarala, Trinadh Varma and Ravi Varma in key roles.
