Chinmayi Sripaada has praised Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay and the team of Jana Nayagan for addressing the sensitive issue of child sexual abuse in the film. While the actor’s final film has attained commercial success and Vijay’s swansong status, Chinmayi Sripaada mentioned a particular scene that resonated with her. The singer and voice artist, who has consistently spoken about child safety, said she appreciated Thalapathy Vijay using his platform to discuss the issue. She also thanked director H Vinoth for including the sequence. Jana Nayagan is now the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026.

Taking to X, Chinmayi Sripaada spoke about the aspect of Jana Nayagan that mattered most to her. She said the film’s discussion around children’s safety from sexual abuse was particularly significant. “I do want to share about the one thing that was most important to me and the cause that I stand for – safety for children from sexual abuse and swift action (I still wish coz what else do we have except hope?),” Chinmayi wrote.

She also acknowledged Vijay’s stature and his current position as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, saying his decision to address the subject on screen was important. “A star the stature of Vijay and now the Honble CM of Tamilnadu speaking about child sexual abuse in the film was crucial; Important. Huge thanks to the director H Vinoth and to the Honble CM for that scene,” she added.

Chinmayi Sripaada also mentioned in her post a message wishing safety for children and action against those who abuse them. “I hope and pray all children be safe from abuse. May the abusers end,” she wrote.

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan was released in theatres on July 23 after a prolonged censorship process that delayed its release. The film opened to mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and some sections of the audience. The film went on to gross more than Rs 300 crore worldwide and has been reported as one of the highest-grossing Indian film of 2026 It recently began streaming on ZEE5, giving audiences who missed its theatrical run an opportunity to watch Vijay in action. Jana Nayagan is inspired from the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. Alongside Vijay, the cast includes Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Nassar, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain.
