Rakhi is a celebration of the bond between siblings, and that feeling only gets stronger when distance has kept you apart for a while. In her recent reel, food influencer Soundarya Kakar, talks about how her younger sister lives in a different city, and the two of them have not spent a Rakhi together in over a decade. So this year, Kakar decided to make something that is far more memorable than the usual box of sweets. Her dessert mixed 2 entirely different worlds – Italian tiramisu and Indian classic sweet rasgulla. She also uses caramelised Biscoff to tie the whole thing together. The result is a Biscoff Rasgulla Tiramisu that sounds like an unlikely combination on paper but comes together deliciously.

Rakhi Deserves An Extra-Special Dessert
Kakar’s dessert is based on a story. She and her younger sister have lived in different cities for 11 years now and this Rakhi is their first celebration together in a long time, so a simple box of sweets was never going to cut it. And so, she decided to go all out. This dessert brings 2 completely different classic sweets, the tiramisu from Italy and the rasgulla from India. She makes a rasgulla tiramisu using both of these ingredients and also uses a biscoff spread in between to hold them both together and make the whole dessert even creamier and tastier.

Here’s How To Make The Biscoff Rasgulla Tiramisu
For the coffee syrup:
Start with brewing 150ml of strong coffee and let it cool down completely. If you want a stronger flavour, add half a teaspoon of instant coffee as well. Keep the coffee unsweetened, otherwise the dessert ends up being too sweet overall.
For the biscoff mascarpone cream:
You will need 200g of mascarpone cheese, 180g of cold whipping cream, 60g of Biscoff spread, 20g of icing sugar and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Start by whisking the mascarpone, biscoff spread, icing sugar and vanilla together until they are smooth. Then add the cold whipping cream and keep whisking until the mixture turns creamy and fluffy.
Putting Everything Together
Now it’s time to assemble the whole dessert. Firstly, dip the ladyfingers quickly into the cooled coffee and arrange them as your first layer. Do not leave them in the coffee too long as they will turn soggy. Next, spread a generous layer of Biscoff mascarpone cream on top of the ladyfingers, followed by melted Biscoff spread. For the rasgulla layer, squeeze out the extra syrup from each rasgulla, cut them in half and dip the halves into the cooled coffee just for a little bit and then place them over the Biscoff layer.
For more texture and crunch, add a layer of hand crushed Biscoff cookies. Top it off with more mascarpone cream. At last, finish the assembling with the remaining rasgulla halves and sprinkle some cocoa powder at the top. For the flavours to come together perfectly, refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 6 hours or leave it overnight.
Soundarya Kakkar made the kind of dessert that manga to be several things at once – it has the coffee soaked richness of a proper tiramisu, the caramelised sweetness of Biscoff and the softness of rasgulla, making it a dessert with an unexpected Indian twist perfect for festivals like Rakhi. Her dessert is proof you do not need to stick to the same sweet boxes this rakhi, you can simply make unique ones for your siblings.
