Russia’s southern Krasnodar region has been hit by a fresh wave of Ukrainian drone strikes, with a huge fire reported at a warehouse covering about 9,000 sq metres. The facility was reportedly operated by CMM-K, although local reports said it was an Ozon warehouse. That claim has not been independently confirmed.

The latest strikes come amid a wider series of Ukrainian drone attacks across Russia, with military sites, industrial facilities and logistics centres reportedly targeted. Ukraine has also claimed strikes on Russian fighter jets, an Orion drone and air-defence systems in Krasnodar Krai.

In the Orenburg region, Governor Yevgeny Solntsev said two industrial facilities had been damaged by falling drone debris, including a warehouse belonging to Ozon, one of Russia’s largest online retailers.

Solntsev said Russian air defences had intercepted six drones over the region and that no-one had been injured. Ozon said more than 300 people had been evacuated and work at its logistics centre in the region had been suspended.

The reported strike came a day after Ukrainian drones hit another Ozon logistics centre in Russia’s Samara region. The company said the facility in Chapayevsk had been evacuated and operations halted after the attack, which caused injuries.

Ukraine has previously targeted logistics infrastructure belonging to Ozon’s larger rival, Wildberries, as part of what it describes as a campaign against economic infrastructure supporting Russia’s war effort.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said it had destroyed or intercepted hundreds of Ukrainian drones overnight, with separate statements putting the total at 328 and 457.

Military Targets Reported Hit

Ukraine also said its forces had struck Russian military equipment in the southern Krasnodar region. Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, said two Russian aircraft — a Su-33 and a MiG-29 — and an Orion strike drone were hit at Vityazevo airfield in Krasnodar Krai.

He said the attacks also targeted S-400, Pantsir and Tor air-defence systems, as well as eight high-value radar systems in Krasnodar Krai, Rostov Oblast and Russian-occupied Crimea.

Videos of the reported strikes were shared on Mr Brovdi’s Telegram channel. He said all three attacks were carried out by Ukraine’s 1st Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces, which specialises in long-range strikes.

The Orion is a Russian unmanned aircraft developed before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russia has adapted the system to launch Banderol cruise missiles, which have been used against Ukrainian infrastructure.

Civilian Casualties Reported

Russian officials also reported civilian casualties in several regions. In the southern Krasnodar region, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said two children had been killed and two adults wounded in a strike on the Sea of Azov port town of Yeysk. He said a fire broke out at an unnamed facility in the town’s port.

The governor of Belgorod, which borders Ukraine, said two people were killed and 13 wounded in Ukrainian attacks. Four people were reported wounded in the neighbouring Bryansk region.

In Luhansk, a Ukrainian region largely controlled by Russia, Moscow-installed governor Leonid Pasechnik said two civilians, including a 16-year-old boy, had been killed and nine others wounded.

The latest attacks come as Ukraine continues to expand its long-range drone campaign against Russian military and economic infrastructure, while Moscow maintains a large-scale aerial campaign against targets in Ukraine.
