The Onam box office battle between Nivin Pauly’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa is beginning to show a clear trend. While Prithviraj’s action film remained almost steady on its fourth day, Nivin Pauly’s family entertainer witnessed another jump in collections on Sunday. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, starring Mamitha Baiju alongside Nivin Pauly, has benefited from positive word of mouth and has crossed the Rs 20 crore mark in India. The Girish AD-directed film has is also doing well overseas, taking its worldwide gross past Rs 60 crore. Meanwhile, Khalifa continues to maintain a pace at the box office.

Nivin Pauly is enjoying a strong run at the box office with his latest release, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. Co-starring Mamitha Baiju, the Malayalam film has benefited from positive word of mouth and witnessed impressive growth over its opening weekend, crossing the Rs 20 crore mark in India. The film has already recovered nearly 70 percent of its total production budget and is steadily moving towards a successful theatrical run.

According to Sacnilk, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit collected an estimated India net of Rs 8.80 crore on Day 3. The film was screened across 1,781 shows, with Sunday’s collection marking a 23.1 percent increase over the Rs 7.15 crore it earned on Saturday. The film has now accumulated an India net collection of Rs 20.85 crore, while its India gross stands at Rs 24.35 crore. It added approximately Rs 11 crore in overseas gross collections on Sunday, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 36.70 crore.

The Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju starrer has now reached a worldwide gross of Rs 61.05 crore. The film collected Rs 4.90 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 7.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 8.80 crore on Sunday. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit also recorded an impressive 77.75 percent overall occupancy on Day 3. Morning shows registered 60.83 percent occupancy, while afternoon, evening and night shows recorded 83.33 percent, 88.25 percent and 78.58 percent, respectively.

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa, meanwhile, remained relatively stable on its fourth day. According to Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 1.88 crore India net on Sunday from 1,317 shows. The earnings represents a marginal 1.1 percent decline from the Rs 1.90 crore recorded on Saturday. After four days, Khalifa has accumulated an India net collection of Rs 11.53 crore and an India gross of Rs 13.43 crore. The film has also performed well overseas, where it has earned Rs 14.25 crore in gross collections. Its worldwide gross currently stands at Rs 27.68 crore.
