\n\nCorie A. Walsh, a 40-year-old Frankfort, Illinois, mother, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old son. Frankfort police responded to the family's home on the 22700 block of Brook Stone Court shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of an injured or unresponsive child.
\n\nWhen officers arrived, a neighbor was performing CPR on the boy. According to court documents, the neighbor told police the child had been found hanging in the basement from a device attached to a rafter. The neighbor lowered him and attempted to revive him while calling 911, but the efforts were unsuccessful. The boy was pronounced dead from asphyxia.
\n\nPolice said three other children were also at the home and were unharmed. Court documents state an infant was inside at the time, while two school-aged children returned home around the same time.
