Taylor Farms Salmonella Recall: List Of States, Stores Affected, And Salsa, Guacamole Products Removed

Taylor Fresh Foods is recalling jalapeño-containing products sold at Hannaford, Kroger, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Stop & Shop over potential Salmonella contamination.

Taylor Fresh Foods is recalling finished food products containing jalapeño peppers after Coast Citrus Distributors voluntarily recalled fresh jalapeños because of potential Salmonella contamination.
The recall was announced on August 9, 2026. The US Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with state and local partners, are investigating a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to fresh jalapeños supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors.
According to Taylor Fresh Foods, a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, that supplies Coast Citrus Distributors was identified as the potential source of the outbreak.
Taylor Fresh Foods said it is no longer sourcing products from that farmer and will fill orders using alternative suppliers. The company also said it is not aware of any reported illnesses linked to its products containing jalapeños.
List Of States Affected And Stores Impacted
The recalled products were distributed to retail distribution centers in 25 states:
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Florida
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Massachusetts
- Maine
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- Mississippi
- Nebraska
- New Hampshire
- New York
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Vermont
- West Virginia
The products have “Best If Used By” dates up to and including August 16, 2026.
The affected retailers and products include:
- Hannaford: Diced Jalapeños 3.75 oz and Rice and Bean Burrito 12.5 oz.
- Kroger: Private Selection Spicy Roast Beef Sandwich 8.53 oz, Spicy Jarlsberg Dip 10 oz and Spicy Pimento Cheese Dip 10 oz.
- Stop & Shop and Hannaford: Pico de Gallo Salsa 7 oz.
- Target: Taylor Farms/Unbranded Taco Dip 20 oz, Mango Pico de Gallo 11 oz, Spicy Guacamole 13 oz, as well as Taylor Farms Pico de Gallo 16 oz and Authentic Guacamole 13 oz.
- Trader Joe’s: Fiesta Style Salad Shrimp 11.11 oz.
- Walmart: Freshness Guaranteed Hot (or Spicy) Pico de Gallo 10 oz and Mild Pico de Gallo 10 oz.
- Whole Foods: Salsa Fresca Medium 12 oz, Pico de Gallo Mild 10 oz, Pico de Gallo Spicy 10 oz, Salsa Verde Mild 12 oz, Salsa Roja Medium 12 oz and Pineapple Mango Salsa Mild 10 oz.
The recall includes products distributed under both branded and unbranded labels. The company’s recall notice provides product-specific UPC numbers and “Best If Used By” dates for the affected items.
What Consumers Should Do
Taylor Fresh Foods said consumers who have any recalled product should discard it immediately and not consume it.
Refunds are available at the location where the product was purchased. Consumers with questions can contact Taylor Fresh Foods customer care at 855-455-0098, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, frail or elderly people and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms can include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare cases, Salmonella infection can lead to more severe illnesses.
