Over 10 Wall Street Firms Pay Up To $100,000 A Month For Early Trump Truth Social Posts
Trump Media has signed over 10 customers for its new Truth API service. The service gives Wall Street traders faster and early access to market-moving posts made by influential accounts on Trump’s Truth Social platform.
This move aims to give traders early access to posts from the most influential Truth Social accounts before the information spreads.
Whether it has been tariffs, foreign policy or crucial conflicts/wars across the world- the key decisions or opinions of US President Donald Trump have first surfaced on Truth Social. This premium data service is yet another business model and a fresh revenue stream for Trump Media while reflecting Truth Social to be a real-time source of political, financial and global information.
Irene Aldridge, who runs Able Alpha Trading had earlier put it bluntly. If a corporate CEO handed a select group of investors advance notice of decisions that could move their own company’s stock, she said, that executive would be facing prison time. Her firm had no intention of subscribing to the service she had said. The White House didn’t offer much clarity earlier either when reporters had asked whether attorneys had reviewed the arrangement for ethical concerns. Trump’s press office declined to comment, pointing questions instead to Trump Media & Technology, the publicly traded company that owns Truth Social, as per the report at the time. That company later pushed back hard against critics, suggesting Democratic opponents were either ideologically opposed to free markets, didn’t understand the difference between public and private information, or possibly both.
Some analysts continue to question whether the firms that pay for this faster/premium access to Trump’s posts on Truth Social will have an unfair advantage as there is an intersection between political communication or commentary and financial trading or economic decisions and the impact they can possibly have altogether.
