Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has accused Israel of restricting the entry of essential supplies into Gaza, warning that shortages are putting thousands of people at greater risk of death and severe illness.

The group said items such as engine oil and spare parts needed to operate hospital generators, ambulances and water pumps remain restricted. MSF called for the blockade to be lifted and for sustained, unhindered access to humanitarian supplies.

MSF’s head of mission in Palestine, Filipe Ribeiro, described the restrictions as a deliberate “policy of attrition”, saying they are weakening the basic systems Gaza’s population depends on for survival.

Local outlet Jonoub Ostan reported that IRGC Aerospace Force Major Abolfazl Heidari was targeted in an armed attack in Zabol, in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province.

No further details about the incident, including the officer’s condition or the identity of those responsible, have been released.

Iran could rebuild its ballistic missile arsenal to near pre-war levels by early to mid-2027 if it maintains a production rate of roughly 100 to 300 missiles a month, according to a new report by The Jerusalem Post. Israeli defence officials are reportedly surprised by the speed of Iran’s military recovery following the 2026 war.

Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and envoy, is expected to travel to Israel next week for talks on Gaza, according to Axios. The visit would be his first trip to Israel since January and comes as the White House seeks to advance the next phase of its Gaza plan.

Kushner is expected to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials, with discussions focused on implementing the US-backed plan, including Hamas disarmament and the potential for an Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza.

The trip comes amid tensions between Washington and Netanyahu, who has publicly rejected an immediate Israeli withdrawal unless Hamas is fully disarmed. Despite Netanyahu’s position, US officials have indicated that the Gaza plan remains active and that efforts to implement it are continuing

The US military has lost at least 45 MQ-9 Reaper drones during the Iran war, representing roughly a quarter of its fleet, according to The Washington Post.

The losses are reportedly linked to intensive drone operations around the Strait of Hormuz, where the aircraft have faced increased risks from Iranian-backed groups and proxy forces.

Each MQ-9 Reaper can cost up to $50 million, making the losses a significant financial setback for the US military.

The Reaper is widely used for surveillance, reconnaissance and precision strikes. The reported losses highlight the growing vulnerability of high-value unmanned aircraft operating in heavily contested environments.

Gaza’s police have rejected Israeli claims that police commander Jamal Abu Kamil was a Hamas fighter involved in the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel.

The Israeli army said it had killed Abu Kamil in a strike and alleged that he had participated in the attacks. However, Gaza police dismissed the claims, saying Abu Kamil was solely focused on his official police duties and had no involvement in other activities.

The statement also denied any affiliation between Abu Kamil and armed groups, directly challenging Israel’s account of the circumstances surrounding his killing.

The Israeli military has confirmed that it killed Jamal Abu Kamil, head of the civil police force in Gaza governorate, in an air strike, while accusing him of being a Hamas commander involved in attacks against Israel.

The Gaza Interior Ministry said Abu Kamil was killed when an Israeli drone struck his vehicle. Israel claimed he had continued planning attacks against Israeli forces and civilians during the war and was targeted because he posed a security threat.

The incident has sparked competing accounts, with Palestinian authorities describing Abu Kamil as a senior police official, while Israel says he was affiliated with Hamas.

Israel has repeatedly characterised strikes on Gaza police and security personnel as operations against Hamas fighters. Critics have questioned some of these claims, particularly when limited evidence has been provided.

The latest strike comes despite the ceasefire that began on October 10, 2025. Gaza’s Health Ministry says more than 1,250 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the truce began.

Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman and Iraqi Armed Forces official Abdul Amir Al-Shammari held talks on military cooperation and the latest regional developments.

The two sides stressed the importance of continued coordination to promote their shared interests and strengthen regional security and stability.

Salman said Saudi Arabia would continue supporting Iraq’s security, stability and development, reaffirming Riyadh’s commitment to close ties with Baghdad.

The discussions come as Iraq pushes to ensure that state forces remain the sole authority controlling weapons, following attacks by Iran-linked groups on Saudi Arabia last month.

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy has condemned hundreds of Israeli settlers who, under police protection, entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem and performed Jewish prayers there.

Fahmy called the action a “flagrant violation” of the mosque’s sanctity, international law and relevant international resolutions, holding Israel responsible.

He urged the international community, including the UN Security Council, to protect Palestinians and their holy sites.

Under the longstanding status quo, non-Muslim prayer is not permitted at the compound, although Jewish visitors are allowed to enter the site.

Yemen’s Houthi movement said it launched two drones at a Saudi Aramco refinery in Jazan, claiming the attack was carried out in response to what it described as Saudi violations of Yemeni airspace and sovereignty.

According to Houthi-affiliated media, the group said its forces targeted the Aramco facility with two drones. The Houthis described the operation as a response to alleged Saudi incursions into Yemeni airspace.

Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the reported attack or provided details about any possible damage or casualties.

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has said the US military is prepared to maintain its naval blockade of Iranian ports for as long as necessary.

Speaking to reporters, Hegseth said the US Navy has the capability to sustain the operation indefinitely by rotating ships in and out of the region.

Police chief Daniel Levy met today with the heads of the Central Elections Committee to discuss threats to the integrity of the October 27 election, police say in a statement.

The meeting with Deputy Supreme Court President Noam Sohlberg, who chairs the committee, and with Dean Livne, the CEC director general, included a briefing about the preparedness of police to confront “core issues” including “illicit influence over the election process [and] use of artificial intelligence and technological tools to influence the voting public,” according to the statement.

Settlers remained near besieged homes in the Palestinian village of Qusra in the West Bank on Thursday, as US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee slammed the extremists as “Israeli terrorists” and said that Israeli security forces were in the area at the US Embassy’s request.

Settlers have been blocking entrances to the two homes on the outskirts of Qusra since Sunday after erecting temporary structures nearby.

The stock of the Bank of Jerusalem has been erratic this morning, with sharp drops and some recoveries, amid rampant speculation surrounding the disappearance of bank employee Mali Yahalomi, and unsubstantiated rumors on social media that bank money was somehow involved.

At one point the stock lost some 12%. It has now partially recovered but is still down some 3%.

Yahalomi vanished with her daughter Liel in Vienna on Friday, and Israeli and Austrian authorities are currently probing their disappearance. A gag order had been placed on the case.

Iran will soon join the New Development Bank (NDB), the multilateral lender established by the BRICS group of emerging economies, Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati has said.

Hemmati’s comments were published by Iranian state media on Wednesday, ahead of a BRICS finance meeting being held in India.

The New Development Bank’s corporate communications department did not confirm the information, according to Reuters, leaving the timing of Iran’s potential accession unclear.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has condemned a siege by Israeli settlers against Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank as a “horrific act of terror”, after residents of Qusra village near Nablus said they had been cut off from food and other essential supplies.

Settlers in Qusra have reportedly blockaded Palestinian homes since Sunday, including a property owned by a US citizen. Residents said the blockade had prevented them from receiving food and other basic supplies.

Responding to criticism of the US response, Huckabee described the actions as criminal and condemned the intimidation of the Palestinian family.

“The actions of those doing this to this family’s home are criminal,” Huckabee wrote on X.

The Israeli military says its forces have dismantled two “illegal outposts” near the occupied West Bank areas of Qusra and Jalud, confiscating equipment from the sites and arresting one Israeli.

According to a military update, Israeli troops arrived in the area overnight and dismantled the two outposts located on the outskirts of Qusra and Jalud.

The military said equipment found at the sites was confiscated and that one Israeli was arrested during the operation.

Israeli forces will continue to carry out what the military described as defensive missions and patrols in the area to maintain security and protect the surrounding communities.

Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington has “total control” of the Strait of Hormuz, with the commander of Iran’s paramilitary Basij Organisation asserting that the strategic waterway remains under Tehran’s control.

Hojjatoleslam Hossein Taeb, commander of the Basij, an affiliate of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said the Strait of Hormuz was under the “management and control of the Islamic Republic”.

“Today you see that the Strait of Hormuz is under the management and control of the Islamic Republic, and our country continues on its path in complete security,” Taeb said in remarks quoted by Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

Taeb also claimed that the United States had witnessed the strength of Iran’s revolutionary system.

“The Americans saw the power of the Islamic revolution,” he said.

Salvage operations are under way for the stricken tanker Caroline Bezengi off the coast of Oman, after crude oil leaking from the vessel reached the country’s coastline, according to British maritime security company Ambrey, as reported by Reuters.

Ambrey said salvage vessels are en route to support the operation, while specialist personnel have already boarded the tanker to assess conditions and begin efforts to stabilise both the vessel and its cargo.

The maritime security company said it was working with relevant stakeholders, including Omani authorities, and had contracted the services of a leading international oil spill response company to assist with the operation.

The salvage effort follows a warning from Oman’s Environment Authority that oil from the Caroline Bezengi had reached beaches at Ras Madrakah.
