Haryana consumer wins ₹55,000 from Apple over overheating iPhone 15, other faults
The order brings Apple’s total liability in the case to ₹55,500, including the refund, compensation and legal expenses.

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Rohtak found Apple deficient in service, noting that the company had failed to prove its claim that the handset had been tampered with by the customer.
The commission directed Apple to refund the phone’s purchase price of ₹45,500. It also awarded the complainant ₹5,000 as compensation and another ₹5,000 towards litigation costs.
The ruling followed the customer’s complaint that the problems persisted despite approaching the company for a resolution. Apple contested the claim by alleging that the device had been tampered with, but the consumer panel found no evidence supporting that contention.
The order brings Apple’s total liability in the case to ₹55,500, including the refund, compensation and legal expenses.
