Hollywood star Will Smith is reportedly in talks to join director Atlee’s sci-fi epic Raaka, starring Allu Arjun, in what could turn out to be his first-ever role in Indian cinema. According to a report by Mid-Day, the Oscar winner has been approached to play the film’s primary antagonist and could officially come on board ahead of the movie’s next shooting schedule.

The publication, citing a source, stated that Smith’s dates are currently being worked out, with the overseas shooting location still to be finalised based on his availability. His costumes for the role have reportedly already been locked in, and the crew is said to be looking forward to kicking off his portions. These details remain unconfirmed, and the makers are yet to issue an official statement on Smith’s involvement.

Allu Arjun will reportedly be seen playing four different characters in the film — a grandfather, a father, and two sons — with the plot possibly built around the concept of a parallel universe. The film’s ensemble cast includes Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in key roles.

Raaka was previously known by its working title AA22xA6 before being officially renamed on April 8, coinciding with Allu Arjun’s 44th birthday. The makers marked the occasion by unveiling the film’s first-look poster, showing the actor in a strikingly different, intense new avatar.
