BMW X1 LWB Launch Live Updates: BMW has launched the new X1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India at Rs 49.90 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a longer body and more rear-seat space to the compact luxury SUV. The X1 LWB gets a 108mm longer wheelbase than the standard X1, taking it to 2,800mm, while its overall length stands at 4,616mm. BMW has used the added length primarily to free up space in the second row, with knee room increasing by 109mm. The SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 156hp and 230Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The longer X1 also gets a 540-litre boot, which can be expanded to 1,700 litres with the rear seats folded. Equipment includes a widescreen curved display running BMW OS 9, wireless smartphone charging, a Harman Kardon sound system, Digital Key Plus and BMW Parking Assistant Plus. The safety package includes eight airbags and several driver assistance systems. With the LWB version, BMW is targeting buyers who want more usable rear-seat space without moving up to a larger SUV.
