Gold Price Yesterday: Delhi Market Saw Another Decline
Gold prices in Delhi’s bullion market slipped for the second straight trading session on Friday. The rate declined by Rs 800 per 10 grams, bringing the price to Rs 1,56,200 per 10 grams. The move came amid profit-booking by investors and softer global cues. A day earlier, 99.9 per cent pure gold was priced at Rs 1,57,000 per 10 grams. In overseas markets, spot gold was also marginally lower, trading at $4,351.01 per ounce.
Gold Futures Price: MCX Contract Falls On Friday
Gold futures also ended lower during the previous trading session as weak spot demand encouraged speculators to trim their positions. The October delivery contract on the MCX declined by Rs 409, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 1,53,057 per 10 grams on Friday. In the international market, gold futures in New York slipped 0.06 per cent to $4,347.69 per ounce.
Market analysts attributed the decline in domestic futures prices largely to subdued physical demand.
Experts Track Profit-Booking And Global Market Signals
According to news agency PTI, Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst (Commodities) at HDFC Securities, said that gold prices fell on Friday amid weak global cues. Spot gold prices declined even though US producer-price data came in below expectations.
Gandhi also pointed to profit-booking following the recent rise in gold prices. According to him, investors were also hesitant to establish fresh positions at elevated levels.
Praveen Singh, commodity head at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, said crude oil prices rose again amid preparations by the US to take further economic steps against Iran for opening the Strait of Hormuz.
