The White House has rejected Marjorie Taylor Greene’s claim that officials are discussing the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iran, calling her “completely out of the loop.”

The White House has dismissed former US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s claim that senior officials are discussing the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iran, calling her remarks “Fake News.”
Greene claimed in a Sunday post on X that discussions about nuclear weapons were “real” and accused the Trump administration of lowering the threshold for nuclear action. She did not provide evidence, documents or identify officials allegedly involved in the discussions.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle sharply rejected Greene’s claims, saying the former congresswoman “has no idea what she is talking about” and is “completely out of the loop.”

Ingle also accused Greene of pretending to have insight into President Trump’s thinking and criticised her for allegedly spreading false information.
“Marjorie ‘Quitter’ Greene has no idea what she is talking about,” Ingle said, adding that she “disgracefully quit on her constituents during the middle of her term” and “wants to pretend like she has insight into the President’s thinking.”
Greene had alleged that the administration was disregarding US intelligence assessments that Iran was not close to developing a nuclear weapon and was instead being influenced by warnings from Israel.
She also warned that a US decision to use nuclear weapons against Iran could trigger a much wider conflict, resulting in heavy casualties and severe economic consequences.
There has been no public confirmation from the US government or defence officials that Washington has changed its nuclear policy or is preparing to use nuclear weapons against Iran.
Greene has previously criticised Trump administration decisions involving Iran while continuing to describe herself as a supporter of the president. Following US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025, she accused the administration of abandoning campaign promises to avoid foreign wars and regime-change operations.
Her latest comments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following months of military confrontation and stalled diplomatic efforts. Iran has continued to issue threats against US forces in the region, while diplomatic efforts over its nuclear programme have failed to produce a breakthrough.
