BMW is set to launch the facelifted 7 Series and i7 in India on September 11, more than two weeks after opening pre-launch bookings across dealerships and its website. BMW 7 Series, i7 Facelifts: Design And Cabin Changes

  • The most visible change is a new illuminated kidney grille, paired with redesigned split headlamps where a slim upper section houses the daytime running lights and a smaller lower unit sits near the air curtains; taillamps are now slimmer and extend further into the tailgate.
  • Inside, BMW has replaced the conventional instrument cluster with a full-width display projected at the base of the windscreen alongside a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a 14.6-inch front passenger display, all running the new BMW Operating System X with over-the-air update support.
  • A Bowers & Wilkins sound system with up to 18 speakers comes standard and rear passengers get an upgraded 31.3-inch 8K theatre screen supporting video calls, streaming as well as gaming.

BMW 7 Series, i7 Facelifts: Powertrain Updates

  • The 740i xDrive petrol now makes 400 hp and 580 Nm, up by 19 hp and 60 Nm over the outgoing model while the 740d xDrive diesel rises to 313 hp and 670 Nm, gains of 27 hp and 20 Nm with both retaining their 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid setup and 8-speed automatic.
  • The electric i7 xDrive50 replaces the previous rear-wheel-drive-only entry variant with standard all-wheel drive and a larger 112.4kWh battery, up from 101.7kWh, producing 455 hp and 660 Nm.
  • The range-topping i7 M70 xDrive now makes 680 hp and up to 1,100 Nm, with WLTP-claimed range extending beyond 700 km on the updated battery.

The current 7 Series is priced at Rs 1.85 crore (ex-showroom) for both petrol and diesel, while the i7 ranges from Rs 2.10 crore to Rs 2.58 crore; BMW India hasn’t confirmed final pricing for the facelifted versions but a modest increase is expected given the scope of updates.
