Gold Price Yesterday: Domestic And Global Markets Rally
Gold ended the previous trading session on a stronger note, helped by a weaker US dollar and positive momentum across international markets. In Delhi, gold of 99.9 per cent purity gained Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,63,500 per 10 grams, including all taxes, from Rs 1,62,300 in the previous session.
The latest price marked the highest level for the metal in more than three months. Gold had last traded around a similar level on May 19, when it was priced at Rs 1,63,600 per 10 grams.
Internationally, spot gold also advanced sharply. The metal gained $81.58, or 2 per cent, to $4,600.91 per ounce on Friday, extending its recent upward movement.
MCX Gold Futures Gain Over Rs 1,400
Gold futures also strengthened during Friday’s session as fresh buying and firm spot demand supported prices. On the MCX, gold contracts for October delivery advanced Rs 1,432, or 0.9 per cent, to Rs 1,60,857 per 10 grams.
The international futures market followed a similar trajectory. Gold futures in New York rose 0.98 per cent to $4,561.01 per ounce.
The latest gains underline the continued strength of the precious metals market, with investors closely tracking currency movements, bond yields and broader market volatility.
Experts Explain Why Gold Prices Are Rising
Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemon Markets Desk, said gold prices continued their upward trend on Friday, extending their gains for the third consecutive week. Silver also remained strong due to a weaker US dollar and a decline in long-term US bond yields.
Saumil Gandhi, Senior Commodity Analyst at HDFC Securities, said spot gold prices rose to around $4,600 per ounce, the highest level since May 18. It is on track for a third consecutive week of gains. He said strong investment demand and higher volatility in the currency and bond markets continued to support the precious metal.
