India's squash sensation Anahat Singh was forced to pull out of the Canadian Open quarterfinal due to an injury. The sixth seed Anahat was set to face Egyptian top seed Fayrouz Aboelkheir for a place in the final. Anahat has been in great form over the last few months, and defeated English Saran Nghiem 11-6, 4-11, 11-5, 11-7 in the previous round. She was given a bye in the first round. Anahat was looking for the Canadian Open title after losing to Malaysia's Sivasangari Subramaniam in the semifinal of the Silicon Valley Open; however, the injury came as a big setback. The development was confirmed by the PSA Squash Tour.
