\n\nThe total number of voters or electors in Delhi amid the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has been of concern after a draft list suggested that around 47-48 names have been deleted from the electoral roll. While voters whose names are missing follow the procedure to include their names before the final list is sealed, reports suggest that prior to these deletions, over a million voters' names were removed between January 2025 and July 2026.
\n\nAccording to Election Commission (EC) data, more than a million names were removed from Delhi's electoral rolls between January 2025 and June 2026. The commission says that the reduction reflected routine maintenance and duplicate entry removal ahead of the Special Summary Revision (SSR).
\n\nOn 7 January 2025, the Election Commission recorded 1,55,37,634 general electors in the national capital. On January 31, 2025, the Election Commission recorded 1,56,14,000 general electors in Delhi.
\n\nHowever, by June 2026, immediately before the SIR process had begun and voter rolls were sealed — the Election Commission's published figure stood at 1,45,510,299 electors, a decline of more than one million.
