\n\nPakistan's interim red-ball head coach Mike Hesson has vehemently denied reports that Salman Ali Agha declined to attend a meeting with King Charles III. He has referred to the story as "unacceptable journalism" and maintained that the Pakistani batter was informed he would not be attending the engagement prior to Hesson's arrival in England. The report was released during a time of extreme instability in Pakistani cricket, when head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed was fired and seven players were removed from the Test team after the country's first two matches against England ended in crushing losses. Among those let go from the team were Salman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Muhammad Rizwan.
\n\nHowever, Hesson, who got the charge of the Test team only after those three players had already departed England, claimed that their absence from the King's engagement at Buckingham Palace was uncontroversial.
