\n\nThe Delhi Police has denied permission for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming concert scheduled for October 30 in New Delhi. According to reports, the police denied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) citing security concerns and law order issues during festive seasons. Dosanjh was to perform in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30.
\n\nThe decision comes ahead of the musical event, which was expected to draw a large gathering of fans. The police have withheld clearance on security grounds, though further details regarding the reasons behind the decision were not immediately available.
\n\nThe Delhi performance was supposed to kickstart the India leg of Diljit's Aura World Tour and then travel to six cities — Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh.
\n\nAs part of the world tour, Diljit has performed in multiple countries in North America, Europe and Australia.
\n\nDelhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj questioned why the government is denying permission to singer Diljit Dosanjh's concert and added that he is another Punjab icon after Daler Mehndi. "Indian youth love Dosanjh and he is much loved in Punjab," he added.
