\n\nEconomist and former bureaucrat Nand Kishore (N.K.) Singh launched his new book, Endeavours: An Ensemble of My Life, at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi on October 28, 2026.
\n\nThe book was formally released by a group of well-known figures from India and abroad. These included Union Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar, veteran politician Karan Singh, Indonesian economist and former Managing Director of the World Bank Mari Elka Pangestu, Baroness Minouche Shafik, and author Gurcharan Das. Singh joined them on stage for the release.
\n\nThe guest list reflected the many circles Singh has moved in over his long career: Government, politics, global finance and public debate.
\n\nA large part of the book draws on two of his most important roles. The first is his time as a senior official in the Prime Minister's Office. He served as Secretary to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 1998 to 2001. The second is his tenure as Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission, the body that recommends how tax revenue is shared between the Centre and the states.
