Pratika Rawal earned her maiden T20I call-up for the upcoming Asia Cup due to an injury to Jemimah Rodrigues. Pratika was gearing up for her maiden stint with an England county when she made it to the T20I team for the first time. The right-handed batter was slated to play for Warwickshire Bears in the one-day cup. Warwickshire issued a statement after Pratika was ruled out and said that they were “disappointed” with her absence. Warwickshire also wished the Indian batter well for the continental tournament.

“We were really looking forward to welcoming Pratika into our squad for the remainder of the season and we’re incredibly disappointed to lose her. That being said, we’ve still got a lot to play for in the remaining weeks of the season and we’re confident in the squad we have at our disposal. Playing for your country is the ultimate honour and we wish Pratika well in the Asia Cup,” Warwickshire wrote.

Pratika has played 27 ODIs and one Test match. She has scored 81 runs in red-ball cricket. She has 1189 runs and six wickets in ODIs. The Delhi born player was ruled out of the semi-final and the final of the 2025 ODI World Cup due to an ankle injury.

Pratika shone for India in the ICC event and scored 308 runs in six innings, finishing as the tournament’s fourth-highest run-scorer. Pratika made her return in 2026 but suffered another injuyr while playing for India A, which ruled her out of the historic Test against England.

As of now, Pratika has only been added to the Asia Cup squad and there is no word on Rodrigues’ replacement for the Asian Games. The 2026 Women’s Asia CUp will kick off on August 28. The tournament will be played in Dubai.

Jemimah Rodrigues suffered a hamstring injury during her stint with Southern Brave in The Hundred. The BCCI announced that she suffered a high-grade tear and is at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

Jemimah Rodrigues sustained a right hamstring injury on 3rd August while playing in The Hundred in England. The BCCI Medical Team clinically assessed her at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and the assessment confirmed a high-grade tear,” the BCCI said in its statement.
