Iran Launches Major Attack On Six Ships In Strait Of Hormuz After US Strikes
\n\nIran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said it attacked three oil tankers attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz without authorization and three other vessels allegedly linked to the United States elsewhere. The IRGC said the attacks came in response to US strikes on three Iranian oil tankers earlier Saturday.
\n\nAccording to a statement carried by Iranian state media, the IRGC Navy said it “targeted three oil tankers illegally transiting the Strait of Hormuz” as well as three vessels it described as belonging to “the child-killing America” in other areas.
\n\nThe IRGC Navy said the three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz were targeted because they were traveling along an “unauthorized route.”
\n\nIt also issued a warning to other vessels operating in the Gulf and near the Strait, telling them not to be “deceived” by the US military and to avoid any “suspicious movement” aimed at using unauthorized waterways.
\n\n“Otherwise, you will be targeted,” the IRGC said.
\n\nThe statement followed US Central Command’s announcement that American forces had struck three Iran-linked oil tankers. Centcom said two tankers were “permanently disabled,” including one near Kharg Island…
