\n\nKathmandu: Nine days after the catastrophic flash floods struck Nepal, two people were rescued from Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station. The rescue operation raised hope that more survivors could be found. Videos and images of workers covered with mud being pulled to safety are doing rounds on social media. Bipin Regmi, police chief in the flood-hit district of Nuwakot, told CNN, "Rescuers heard voices."
\n\nThe rescued workers have been identified as Kabir Maharjan, 45, and Sanjay Sah, 30. Maharjan was working as a mechanical supervisor on the project, while Shah was a foreman, according to the Public Relations Directorate of the Nepal Army.
\n\nAccording to reports, 40 people are still reported to be trapped in the tunnel.
\n\nThe Nepal Army-led security team has been carrying out search and rescue efforts with the help of specialised equipment.
\n\nThe operation gained momentum after rescuers heard voices from inside the tunnel and managed to establish contact with individuals believed to be trapped there, The Kathmandu Post reported.
\n\nFollowing the communication, the Nepali Army and Armed Police Force stepped up efforts to reach and rescue those trapped inside.
