Surabhi Das stole the limelight with the first teaser of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. She plays Shrutkirti in the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-headlined mythological drama. According to the Hindu epic, she is the youngest cousin sister of Sita. While Urmila, the younger sister of Sita, had a major role to play in the events that unfolded in Ramayana, Shrutkirti's contribution is lesser known. Surabhi agreed. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Das spoke about her preparation for the movie and also acknowledged that there isn't much information available about her character graph.
\n\nSurabhi told Zoom, "There was not much preparation. Shrutkirti is Sita's sister, but she is not a popular character in the Ramayana. Initially, I did not have much knowledge about Shrutkirti. Most of us knew that Urmila is Sita's sister; Mandvi aur Shrutkirti ke baare mein padha hi nahi tha. Phir maine padha unke baare mein aur samjha ki she was married to Shatrughan."
