\n\nShafali Verma created a world record and etched her name in the record books during her brief stay in the middle in the high-voltage India-Pakistan Women's Asia Cup match on Saturday (September 5). Shafali created history and became the youngest to score 3000 T20I runs in women's cricket. She achieved the milestone aged 22 years and 220 days. She broke Gaby Lewis' record. Lewis, who plays for Ireland, was 24 years and 347 days old when she completed 3000 T20I runs. She is followed by UAE's Esha Oza, who was 27 years and 139 days.
\n\nSmriti Mandhana sits fourth in the elite list. She was 27 years and 171 days on the day she breached the 3000-run mark. She is followed by West Indies' Hayley Matthews (27 years and 347 days).
\n\nShafali has been unstoppable since her T20I and she could break many more records in the future. She made her T20I debut against South Africa in September 2019. She continued her rise in T20Is and made it to the 2020 T20 World Cup team. India lost to Australia in the final at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
