Will Varun Chakaravarthy play 2nd T20I? Photo: BCCI
\n\nIndia and New Zealand will lock horns in the second T20I of the five-match series on Saturday (October 24). Hagley Oval, which hosted the first T20I, will host the second T20I as well. The Men in Blue won the series opener by chasing down the target of 226 and are favourites going into the second game. Ahead of the game, Subramaniam Badrinath picked his playing XI for the fixture and he dropped Axar Patel. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former India opener picked the playing XI for the second game. He brought in Varun Chakaravarthy in place of Axar.
\n\nChakaravarthy was ruled out during the T20I series against Afghanistan and he missed the Asian Games as well. He couldn't recover from a side strain before the home series against West Indies. The mystery spinner hasn't played a game since September 13.
\n\nAxar, who doesn't feature in Badrinath's XI, went for 51 runs in four overs he bowled in the first game. The former India T20I vice-captain removed New Zealand opener Finn Allen, who scored 45 off 24 balls.
