Bollywood star Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, has reportedly withdrawn the divorce petition she had previously filed against the actor, NDTV reported, citing Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha.

The confirmation comes on the heels of Sunita’s appearance at the Bandra Family Court alongside their son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. The withdrawal follows a period of escalating public tension between the couple. Sunita had initially filed the divorce petition in December 2024, citing cruelty, adultery, and desertion. The friction recently spilled into the open after Govinda was spotted promoting his upcoming film Roopa with his much-younger co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Sunita publicly criticised the pairing, calling Govinda a “sugar daddy” and taking aim at the significant age gap.

Govinda had responded through public video messages, denying any unprofessional involvement, warning Sunita against interfering with his business, and requesting that she refrain from using harsh, abusive language in public forums.

Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 and share two children: daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan. Despite past public appearances where both affirmed the strength of their bond, the recent legal manoeuvres and sharp exchanges had reignited separation rumours—now officially put on hold with the dismissal of the divorce plea.
