\n\nA New York-born social media influencer has been arrested in Colombia on weapons trafficking charges after police discovered firearms, ammunition and drugs at her home while attempting to recover overdue rent, officials say. Wendy Duran, 24, was arrested on Monday after police and a judge visited her apartment in Cali to serve an asset seizure warrant over an outstanding rent payment, according to Colombia's Attorney General's Office.
\n\nOfficials said officers found two 9mm Glock pistols on a table beside a television in the living room. Duran told them she did not have a permit to possess or carry a firearm and was arrested.
\n\nA subsequent search of her home in the Pance area uncovered a US-made 5.56-calibre Colt rifle hidden in a cupboard, along with a magazine containing 35 rounds of ammunition, two holographic sights and a laser attachment, officials said.
\n\nPolice also seized $4,844 in cash, a money-counting machine, two digital scales, a mobile phone, two laptops and drugs. Authorities have not specified the type of narcotics allegedly found.
\n\nDuran has pleaded not guilty to charges of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and ammunition, Colombia's Attorney General's Office said. She remains in custody.
