As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital may continue to witness more rain and cloudy skies today as well, Monday, August 10. Moderate rain can be expected to persist throughout the day. The IMD has also issued a ‘yellow alert’ for tomorrow, Tuesday, August 11– indicating that residents should prepare for potential disruptions as they may see waterlogging in parts of the national capital. The IMD has forecast light to moderate showers at various times today, with cumulative rainfall expected to significantly contribute to the total for August.

The latest reports indicate that several regions in the national capital have already surpassed their average rainfall for the month within just the first ten days.

As per IMD, Delhi is expected to record a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius today, while a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius today; however, no alert has been issued for Monday. For Tuesday, the city may observe a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, while a minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. Delhi is also expected to see ‘Light to Moderate Rainfall’ throughout the morning and afternoon tomorrow, whereas ‘Very Light to Light Rainfall’ during the evening and night.

The yellow alert issued by the IMD signifies that residents should remain cautious, as the rain could lead to waterlogging in various parts of the city. Key areas such as Ayanagar and Lodhi Road have already reported substantial rainfall in recent days, contributing to ongoing concerns about traffic disruptions and potential flooding.

According to meteorologists, the ongoing monsoon conditions are responsible for the persistent rain across Delhi. The IMD has stated that this weather pattern is likely to continue, with forecasts suggesting that similar conditions will persist into the weekend.

Despite the rain, the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has remained within the ‘satisfactory’ category, recorded at 71 this morning. The IMD advises residents to stay informed about weather updates and air quality, especially for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
