Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Param Pragya, an AI-powered high-performance supercomputing facility, during IIT Delhi’s 57th Convocation on August 8.

The launch comes as India steps up its focus on artificial intelligence and advanced computing, with the new facility expected to boost research across AI, data science, high-performance computing and other interdisciplinary fields.

“Further emphasising India’s commitment to advancing cutting-edge research and artificial intelligence, Prime Minister will inaugurate Param Pragya, an AI-powered high-performance supercomputing facility,” said the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Prime Minister will attend the convocation as the chief guest and address more than 3,000 graduating students, including 587 PhD scholars.

He will also present IIT Delhi’s highest academic honours, including the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal and Perfect Ten Gold Medals, to meritorious students.

Param Pragya is an AI-powered high-performance supercomputing facility established at IIT Delhi’s Sonipat campus. The introduction of Param Pragya is expected to strengthen IIT Delhi’s research capabilities by providing advanced computing resources for artificial intelligence, data science and other fields.
