Virat Kohli’s cricketing achievements are known to the entire world, but his real estate choices get just as much attention. Among the properties he owns across India, one home stands out for its sheer scale: A Rs 80 crore mansion in Gurugram’s posh DLF Phase 1 locality. Kohli bought this house back in 2015, and it spans over 4,500 sq ft, though other reports put the plot size closer to 10,000 sq ft.

The house was once the primary Delhi-NCR residence for Kohli, Anushka Sharma, and their family before the couple shifted their base overseas. These days, it mainly serves as home for Kohli’s parents, while Virat, Anushka and their kids live abroad.
A Bold Design
What sets this mansion apart is not just its price tag but also the architecture of the house. It has been designed as a three-dimensional abstraction of interlocking geometric boxes. Inside, grey panelled walls draw attention to the high ceilings. It also features a zig zag pattern of black and white marble flooring, which adds an art-deco touch to the interiors.

The living room carries this bold aesthetic further. An emerald-green suede couch sits at the centre. It has been paired with quirky cushions in the same fabric and a handwoven rug underneath. A full-length mirror lined with gold hangs on one wall, next to intricate artwork and framed photographs of the couple. Cricket fans will appreciate one particular detail: Framed sports jerseys on display, a personal touch that reflects Kohli’s lifelong connection to the game.
The living area also doubles up as an entertainment zone. There is a full arcade-style gaming station with a large TV, which reportedly left several Indian cricketers in awe when they visited.
The Showstopper: A Hanging Pool
If there is one feature that gets talked about the most, it is the pool. Rather than being set into the ground, it is suspended like a floating block, offering a design that is rarely seen in Indian homes.

Beyond the pool, the mansion is loaded with lifestyle amenities. There is a fully equipped gym, a private pool, a dedicated gaming zone, and a bar area for entertaining guests. The bar itself is styled in dark, moody black tones, meant for a relaxed evening with friends from both the cricketing and Bollywood circles. Even the master bathroom follows this theme of understated drama, done up in dark, atmospheric tones rather than the usual bright, clinical look most luxury homes go for.
Despite the scale and opulence, people close to the family describe the home as warm rather than showy. It is meant to reflect Virat and Anushka’s actual lifestyle, modern and stylish, but also personal and rooted in family.
Part Of A Bigger Portfolio
The Gurugram house is just one piece of the couple’s growing property collection. Kohli is known to own four homes in total, this Gurugram bungalow, a sea-facing apartment in Worli, Mumbai, a holiday villa in Alibaug, and the house in Delhi where he grew up. The Alibaug property, built on an 8-acre plot, is valued at roughly Rs 32 crore and includes a temperature-controlled pool, a custom kitchen, and a jacuzzi. More recently, the couple has also picked up land near Alibaug’s Awas Beach and a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Versova area, adding to what’s become a fairly diversified real estate portfolio.
Interestingly, ownership of the Gurugram house has changed hands within the family. As per reports, before travelling for the Australia series, Kohli officially transferred the property to his elder brother, Vikas Kohli, through a General Power of Attorney, a move seen as a practical step in managing the family’s assets in India while the couple continues to live overseas.
