From Pixel 11 to Fitbit air: Everything Google announced at its biggest India launch event
Tensor G6-powered Pixel 11 series debuts in India at ₹89,999 onwards, alongside Pixel Watch 5, Pixel Tag, and a confirmed October launch for the Fitbit Air

Google’s “Made by Google” event, hosted by Trevor Noah, went live globally on August 12, with the India stream following at 3:30 AM IST on August 13. As expected, the Pixel 11 series took centre stage, but the event also brought a new smartwatch, Google’s first-ever Bluetooth tracker, and long-awaited confirmation on the Fitbit Air’s India debut. Here’s a complete round-up of everything Google announced.
Fitbit Air Confirmed for India: In a moment many Indian buyers had been waiting on for months, Google confirmed that the Fitbit Air its screenless, 24/7 health tracker first launched globally in May will officially arrive in India in October. The device has been the subject of heavy grey-market demand in the country following its international debut, and official Indian pricing is expected closer to the October launch.
Pixel Tag Takes on the AirTag: Google also unveiled its first Bluetooth tracker, the Pixel Tag, built to work with the Find Hub network for locating items like keys and luggage. It supports Ultra-Wideband for precision finding, carries an IP67 rating, and runs on a replaceable battery rated for over a year. It’s priced at $29 for a single tag or $99 for a four-pack, launching November 11.
Pixel Watch 5: Alongside the phones, Google introduced the Pixel Watch 5, running on Qualcomm’s W5 Gen 2 chip with a 12% faster CPU and 50% more RAM than before. It comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes priced at $399 and $429 in the US, with a $579.99 LTE Stephen Curry Edition arriving September 3. The standout addition is a new “Health Guardian” suite: Blood Pressure Trends, which estimates changes in blood pressure patterns over time (not real-time readings), and Insulin Resistance Trends, which uses sleep, heart rate, and activity data to flag long-term metabolic changes. Google is careful to frame both as wellness features, not diagnostic tools.
Pixel 11 Series: Four Phones, One Chip The Pixel 11 lineup arrives in four variants: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold all powered by Google’s new Tensor G6 chip, which the company says delivers 50% more TPU compute, up to 25% faster web browsing, and up to 20% better power efficiency over its predecessor. The standard Pixel 11 gets a redesigned, 40% thinner camera bar, a 48MP main camera with 56% more light sensitivity, and a 5x telephoto lens capable of 30x Super Zoom. It ships with 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, and Google claims over 30 hours of battery life. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL step things up with 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch displays respectively, peak brightness of 3,600 nits, a new 50MP main sensor, and a telephoto camera capable of up to 120x “Pro Zoom.” Google also says the Pro models are now over twice as scratch-resistant as last year’s phones.
India Pricing: The Pixel 11 series launches in India starting at ₹89,999 for the base model, with the Pixel 11 Pro at ₹1,19,999 and the Pixel 11 Pro XL at ₹1,34,999, a roughly ₹10,000 hike over the Pixel 10 generation. Pricing for the Pro Fold is expected to be confirmed alongside India availability. Pre-orders opened on August 12, with general availability starting on August 20.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold, meanwhile, is roughly 1mm thinner, nearly 10% lighter, and, per Google, three times more durable than the outgoing model, with a redesigned hinge and 24-plus-hour battery life.
HiLight: Exclusive to the Pro models, HiLight is a strip of ambient LEDs around the rear camera flash that lights up in different patterns when Gemini is listening, thinking, or responding, and can also flash custom colours for calls from favourite contacts.
Gemini Features: Google is leaning heavily on Gemini Intelligence across the Pixel 11 lineup, positioning it to surface calendar availability, compare hotel or Airbnb links shared in chat, and pull up flight, Maps, Tasks, and Wallet info without being asked. In the US, Gemini can also handle background tasks like ordering groceries or booking a ride, and can even make phone calls on the user’s behalf with a live transcript. Rounding out the announcements, Google refreshed the Pixel Buds Pro 2 with a new Olive colourway and improved active noise cancellation, alongside a string of camera software updates — including Magic Capture, customizable Camera Looks, and a new Creator Suite with a built-in teleprompter for content creators.
