Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel made a shocking discovery during a pre-embarkation security check at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. A skull was allegedly found concealed inside the hand baggage of a passenger during screening, officials said. The item was detected as part of the routine security process before the passenger was allowed to board the flight.

The incident took place on August 10, when CISF personnel deployed at the airport detected a suspicious item during the security check of a passenger scheduled to travel from Delhi to Hyderabad, according to an ANI report.

During the screening of the passenger’s hand baggage, security personnel noticed an unusual object concealed inside the luggage. The item was subsequently examined by the CISF personnel, who found it to be a skull.

The passenger was questioned regarding the recovered item and reportedly stated that the skull was that of a monkey.

Given the nature of the recovered item and the possibility that it could be linked to protected wildlife, CISF personnel informed the concerned authorities and handed over the passenger to the local police for further investigation and legal action.

The passenger was stopped from proceeding with the journey after the suspected animal skull was detected during baggage screening. Authorities are now examining the skull to establish its exact nature and origin, and are also investigating how the passenger allegedly obtained and was carrying it.

The case is being examined under the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, which regulates the possession, transportation and trade of protected wildlife and wildlife-related articles.

The discovery was made during pre-embarkation security screening at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where CISF personnel routinely check passengers and their baggage for prohibited and suspicious items. The skull was detected during this screening process before the passenger could board the flight.

The local police and other concerned agencies are expected to determine whether the recovered item falls under the protected categories covered by wildlife laws. Further action will depend on the findings of the investigation and verification of the skull.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the passenger or details about the source of the recovered item. The passenger remains under investigation as officials ascertain the circumstances surrounding the alleged transportation of the skull.
