What initially appeared to be a road accident in Delhi’s Kanjhawala area has now turned into an alleged murder conspiracy, with police claiming that the victim, Deepak, was targeted twice within a span of two weeks. According to the police, the first attempt was made on July 2, when a white Hyundai i10 allegedly rammed into Deepak’s scooter near Prem Pyau Road in Majra Dabas. Deepak survived the collision. The incident was initially treated as a road accident and a case was registered at Kanjhawala police station.

However, investigators later suspected that the crash was not accidental. Their suspicion grew stronger after Deepak was allegedly rammed by a Scorpio on July 16 near Chandpur Majra Road. He died in the second incident, while his damaged scooter was found around 100 metres from the spot.

The investigation began linking the two incidents and police suspected that both attacks were part of a larger plan to kill Deepak.

Sagar Kala was arrested on July 17. During questioning, police claimed that he admitted to ramming Deepak with the Hyundai i10 during the July 2 incident. Based on information provided during the probe, the police also recovered the Scorpio allegedly used in the second attack.

Atul Monty was later arrested, following which the white Hyundai i10 was recovered. Police are treating the recovery of both vehicles as important evidence in the case.

Sahil was arrested on July 22. Police allege that he provided shelter to the main accused and helped in destroying evidence. Prince, also known as Tillu, was arrested on July 26. According to police, he arranged the Scorpio allegedly used to ram Deepak.

The fifth accused, identified as Pawan alias Jagpal Dabas, was arrested on August 12 and is being described by police as the alleged mastermind.

Police suspect that an old dispute between Deepak and Pawan may have led to the alleged murder conspiracy. According to investigators, Pawan had been holding a grudge against Deepak for around 15 years, dating back to a time when Deepak allegedly used to tease him.

Police also allege that Pawan had earlier orchestrated a shooting outside the house of Deepak’s brother. Investigators are now examining whether the old dispute eventually led to the alleged plan to eliminate Deepak.

The police have recovered two mobile phones and are examining them for calls, messages and other communication between the accused. The Scorpio and Hyundai i10 are also being examined for forensic evidence.

Investigators are now trying to establish when the alleged plan was made, how the accused communicated with each other and the exact role played by each person in the two attacks. Further investigation is underway.
