In Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar district, a 94-year-old woman, Indravati, mother of IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra, was found dead in her home.
IPS Officer’s 94-Year-Old Mother Found Dead At Home
A 94-year-old mother of serving IPS officer was found dead at her home in Dhawaruwa village under the Malipur police station area of Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar district, police said on Sunday.
The incident reportedly came to light on Sunday morning when the woman’s caretaker arrived at the house and found her dead. According to police, blood was seen coming from her mouth and some of her regular jewellery was missing. However, no visible external injury marks were found on her body. The woman identified as Indravati, is mother of IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra, Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) in Lucknow. He rushed to his village after being informed.
Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. A possible murder and robbery angle is being probed.
The woman reportedly lived alone at the house. After receiving information about the incident, senior police officials, including the Inspector General of Police (IG) of Ayodhya Range, reached the spot and inspected the scene.
The incident is believed to have taken place during the previous night, though the exact time and circumstances of the death are yet to be established.
Police are questioning people connected to the woman and examining evidence from the house as part of the investigation. The exact cause of death will be established after a post-mortem examination. Further details are awaited.
