There will not be any reprieve from weather disruptions on Day 4 of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka either, as the groundskeepers at the Galle International Stadium had to cover the entire outfield after the end of play on Day 3 due to ominous clouds of rain. India will need to overcome the weather and Sri Lanka’s tenacity in order to win the first Test, even if they are in a dominant position. On the third day of the first Test in Galle on Monday, the Indian bowlers faced an unexpected obstacle in the form of centurion Sonal Dinusha, but the Manav Suthar-led attack had enough firepower to take a big 178-run lead over Sri Lanka.
IND vs SL 1st Test, Day 4 Weather Update
The sole period of rain that is currently anticipated is at 10 am IST and local time in Galle, when showers are expected. It is predicted to be largely cloudy for the next hour and to stay that way throughout day. At 10 a.m., the likelihood of rain is 56%, but by 1 p.m., it is just 20%. As a result, we can anticipate a full day of play with only about an hour missed.
Indian In Good Spot Despite SL’s Fightback
However, Dinusha frustrated the rampaging Indian bowlers with a first-ever international century, smashing 100 off 168 deliveries and adding 146 runs off 216 balls for the sixth wicket alongside the seasoned Niroshan Dickwella (80 off 115). In the second session, they scored 116 runs without losing a wicket. It is a crucial match for the Indian team and they would be hoping that weather don’t play spoilsport.
