Sanjay Manjrekar And Ian Bishop Left In Awe
“Wow, he had no right to take that. Honestly, it was never within his reach. Even the batter would have thought, ‘Yeah, it’s in the air, but it was well away.’ One of the best catches that you will see in that area,” said Sanjay Manjrekar on air.
Ian Bishop was left amazed too and tweeted, “That Shubman Gill catch,,,,, superb.”
SL On Backfoot Before Lunch
At the Galle International Stadium on Monday, bowler Asitha Fernando quickly dismissed Prasidh Krishna in the first over, allowing Sri Lanka to end India‘s first innings for 462 in just four deliveries on Day 3. Resuming on their overnight total of 460/9, India decided not to use the heavy roller before play began in the hopes that the pitch would continue to deteriorate as their final pair batted. However, the choice backfired because Sri Lanka swiftly ended their innings, which lasted less than three minutes.
However, that was the only bright light for the hosts as their top order collapsed in front of the Indian bowlers. It all started with Mohammed Siraj dismissing Nishan Fernando on a two-ball duck in the opening over itself. Later, Manav Suthar struck in quick successions and got rid of both Dinesh Chandimal and Lahiru Udara. Then it was Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja who ensured that SL would be going to lunch with 99/5 on board.
