Reacting to the rumours of Michael Hussey joining the England Test team as their batting coach, Kris Srikkanth has “advised” the Australian legend not to make that mistake. There were reports that Hussey could join England and once again work with Stephen Fleming. Fleming recently joined England’s Test team as their head coach following Brendon McCullum’s exit. Fleming will take charge starting the series against South Africa in December. Hussey worked with Fleming for nine seasons. He first joined CSK as their batting coach in 2018 and still holds the position.

“I would advise Michael Hussey not to make that mistake. He would be made to work with Stephen Fleming again. He should continue with CSK as they’ll take care of him brilliantly. Fleming has no work but to go to different places and call Hussey,” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

As of now, there is no official word on Hussey’s future as CSK haven’t announced their new head coach yet. Hussey also played for CSK. He kicked off his IPL career with the Yellow Army in 2008 and played for them till 2013. After spending one season at Mumbai Indians, Hussey returned to CSK in 2015.

CSK are yet to take a call on Fleming’s successor. The New Zealand legend first joined them as their head coach in 2008 and retained the position till 2026. CSK won five IPL trophies under his coaching.

Recently, R Ashwin hinted that Eoin Morgan could join CSK as their head coach. The former England captain had a long IPL career and he played 83 matches. He hasn’t coached an IPL franchise yet.

“I have a strong hunch. Eoin Morgan’s name is strongly linked to the CSK head coach role, per my sources. I think a decision will be made in the next week,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel recently.

Morgan captained Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the IPL 2021 final. CSK defeated KKR in the final to lift the title for the fourth time. CSK are five-time IPL Champions while KKR have lifted the elusive trophy thrice.
