A person has been stabbed in Atlanta, Georgia near a Kroger grocery store. Early local reports indicate that the person who was stabbed has passed away. The suspect has been detained.

Someone died Sunday afternoon after getting stabbed along a stretch of the Atlanta Beltline near a Kroger store in Georgia. The attack happened close to the grocery chain’s location at 725 Ponce De Leon Avenue NE, Atlanta police confirmed, according to a report from Fox News.
Paramedics got the victim to a hospital, but the injuries proved fatal. The victim reportedly said to the attacker “stab me, stab me”.
Police Have Someone in Custody
There’s a possible suspect already detained, police say. Right now, officers from the aggravated assault and homicide units are working the scene, trying to figure out how the stabbing unfolded in the first place. The case is still under investigation.

Plenty is still unknown here. Police haven’t said who the victim was. They also haven’t disclosed the person’s condition before they died.
As for the suspect in custody, he has been identified as Jonathan Hamby with 30 previous arrests.
