\n\nKhaidem Shileima Chanu is 20 and is currently captaining India at the Junior Asia Cup. She describes herself as an introvert. But the burden of captaincy doesn't seem to affect her at all. She can also become an ambivert when needed.
\n\nThe Indian junior women's hockey team had just scored 11 goals past Malaysia in Moqi. The team ended up winning 11-1. They had also defeated South Korea in their opener. For a team defending back-to-back continental titles, Shileima seems modest and humble.
\n\nNo bold talk, always straight to the point.
\n\n"Our preparation is going very well," she says.
\n\n"We are going according to our plan and practice. The coaches are supporting us a lot," she further added.
\n\nHer words sum up how she speaks about herself and how the credit is pushed elsewhere. Asked whether she has always had a leader's personality, she simply says, "Not at all."
\n\nAsked whether she always had the captaincy instinct in her through her academy years, she explains, "I had confidence, but I didn't have the captaincy. I try to evolve."
