This Michelin-Recommended Indian Restaurant in Toronto had the Jonas Brothers Going Full Desi

Not to say the Jonas brothers didn’t already have internationally-acclimatised palettes, but we strongly believe Priyanka Chopra had a lot to do with getting them hooked to desi feasts.

It seems like the Jonas brothers are always on tour! Recently their schedule found them in Toronto and from the looks of it, the second they got some time to themselves, Nick Jonas and brother Joe Jonas made a beeline for quite the desi hotspot in the Canadian city. The love for Indian food was presumably always there, but having Priyanka Chopra – wife to Nick – as part of the family is sure to have amped up their love for the flavour-packed, mouthwatering cuisine. Them animatedly losing their minds over the delicious spread at Toronto’s posh and popular, Michelin-recommended Adrak Yorkville is all the proof anyone needs.

An ANI report lists the brothers having feasted on Rani Kachori, Onion Bhaji, Royal Pista Lamb Chop, Murgh Makhani and Papad ki Tokri. A deep dive into this decadent and delicious menu, serving desi cuisine and culture in the heart of Toronto will reveal a beautiful marriage of Indian staples with worldly experimentation. The result? Doubly soulful spreads.

If you’re in for the complete and authentic experience, start small – literally, with the small plares. A Murgh Beet Salad is a beautiful mix of fresh, seasonal fruit and earthy meat, dunked in some country dressing. The same kind og uniqueness will be found in the Charcoal Soya served with a mango aioli or even the self-explanatory Tandoor Tahini Gobi. If dining in a big group, ordering for the Mili Juli Chaat – an assortment of the street-side delicacies the restaurant customises, is a no-brainer.

If you’re operating on more of a limited appetite, you must pick from the ‘Adrak Signature’ menu: your options span Sundried Tomato Paneer Tikka, Royal Pista Lamb Chop, Asparagus Kofta, Raan-e-Shahi, Awadh Lamb Shank and Patrani Macchi.

If you’re in for a more leisurely dine-in, the selection of grills and kebabs will have you watering at the mouth. Bite into a juicy Rhubard Seekh Kebab or have the Halibut Tikka melt in yor mouth. The Tandoori Stuffed Chicken Wings are a party in your mouth, as is the Bhatti Lobster. But don’t load up on these – because you’re yet to dive into the curries. Morrel Lamb, Xacuti Kofta Madras Sauce, Alleppey Jhinga, Kale Leaf ka Saag or some good old Dal Makhani – whatever you order, scoop it up with some Masala Cheese Naan or Onio Chives Kulcha. An Anar Mint Raita on the side to wash it all down is highly recommended.

Now after all this you may feel there’s no space for dessert, but a quick look at the sweet treats up for grabs and all the food in your stomach will happily re-arrange themselves to accommodate these nostalgic yet luscious options. Keep it simple with some Chai Biscuit or Kulfi Falooda or open the door for your taste buds to a whole new world of flavours with Cocochoco Rasmalai Cheesecake or Kaapi Jamun.
